Feminist Life Coach and Organisational Process Facilitator

Shamillah Wilson

I am a feminist and social justice life coach. I support activists and leaders to navigate the internal (personal) and external complexities they face. My goal is to help my clients achieve fulfilment and wellbeing as they work to transform our world into a just one. Whether you are an entrepreneur, activist or changemaker, I am here to work with you to achieve greater fulfilment, freedom and success.

Resources for you

The social justice approach I follow provides a holistic coaching model that examines our complex realities and then taps into our resourcefulness in ways that can effect small (and sometimes big) changes-for-good internally and in the systems we experience. Each month we look at a different theme to explore together, and share thoughts and resources to help us stay grounded in purpose and intentional in our activism.

This month we focus on

Feminism

National Women’s Day

70 years ago, more than 20,000 South African women marched to the Union Buildings to protest pass laws, led by Lillian Ngoyi, Helen Joseph, Rahima Moosa, and Sophia Williams.

Seventy years later, we still have reasons to protest — and to keep the names of these formidable women alive.

So I want to ask you: what do you fight to protect?

When last did you create a vision for your future? Not just in your journal or in conversations with friends, but something tangible that you can see every day. A vision board carries so much more than big dreams, it grounds those dreams in daily actions we take to reach the long term goals.

Looking to create a similar dreaming space for yourself, your community or your organisation? Get in touch with me, let’s envision the future together.

I am going to be at the African Feminist Forum, August 2026

From 17-19 August 2026, I will be at the African Feminist Forum, a gathering of feminists from around the African continent that began in Accra, Ghana, in 2006. Twenty years later, we gather to continue this collective vision for liberation and movement-building.

Do you know your African Feminist ancestors? Read more about them here: African Feminist Ancestors

Radical acceptance – lessons from my mother

My mother — the complicated, imperfect, unforgettable woman who helped shape who I am. She taught me defiance, vulnerability, asking for help, subversion and radical self-acceptance. Her example helped me become the feminist I am, grounded in community and committed to building healthier worlds with others. Read more

Charter of Feminists

What archetype are you?

Archetypes, like astrology or MBTI, simply provide us with information. They can be useful tools for self-inquiry, helping us deepen self-awareness and understand how we relate to the people around us through a particular lens.

They are not a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, they can help us reconnect with our intentions and strengthen our understanding of ourselves.

What you can expect working with me

I love what I do. I am passionate about unleashing the power and potential in myself and others.

My coaching, and leadership and organisational development, reflect my greatest passions – contributing to a just world and accompanying people on their journeys towards fulfilment. I draw on my own extensive experiences in social justice, leadership development, activism, social entrepreneurship, women’s rights and youth development.

I am curious about what it means to be in this world and how we can connect to a deep inner calling to live our lives with intention and achieve change, not only for the world but for ourselves. As I journey through life figuring this out, I am deeply guided by my politics of equity and justice, and my desire for personal joy, fulfilment and freedom. In other words, I believe we can have it all!

Working with me will help you achieve personal transformation, a new sense of wellbeing, and a plan to realise your goals.

The course on Leading From Within allowed me to give myself a chance to return to me. It was time to embrace that brokenness and return to myself.

Shamillah has helped me to believe that anything is possible. She helped me to see that (if) I am clear about what I want, and dedicate myself to that with consistency and commitment, then I could be content that I am doing what I need to for my life.

Shamillah supported me in thinking through my ‘next big move’ in a manner that gave me clarity and more confidence in what I have to offer the world … gently but firmly holding the space for me to gain clarity and the resolve to explore new ways of being.
